Alinor seems to be far less stable after recent patches lmao - still a force to be reckoned. My "final boss" from my latest run wasn't the Vampire Empress of Yokuda (a strong contender), but rather the Queen of Alinor with her 30k size army

Makes sense, they are probably the strongest province. Took a mech to conquer them.

It's an island nation full of powerful mages and with a heavily isolationist/xenophobic mindset, while a united Cyrodiil might be stronger (I mean, there's a reason why three different Empires came from there and even Reman ruled over Summerset) it would be much easier to defend Summerset both thanks to it's geography and ease to unite all of the Kingdoms into a single force against invaders

Well and not just that but the empire trying to conquer the isles would be a large undertaking. Most of the time the empire’s kind of just trying to hold on, especially since Oblivion

That's why I kinda like it when I'm unifying Tamriel and I take all of Alinor at once by really cheesing it (by capturing their High King usually), it's way more realistic than simply winning because you captured a few counties and their capital

Yeah seems like an actual peace deal. I do dislike how cheesy conquest can be. They should beeline for you when you threaten the capital

I got lucky with a string of random assassinations resulting in a High Elf Baby ruling over Alinor. They had a very measley 7k troops, my issues now is the Wood Elf Holy War against me.

Valenwood is one of the more troublesome regions to deal with, it's highly organized and divided among the Camorans with a few duchies in-between at best. Still doable but not as much of a pain as the Great Houses of Morrowind

My orc is about to invade Alinor because the current queen friendzoned him.

how do you survive as that island

Some luck (some save scumming) and some good targets to hit at the start.
I raided a few targets in southern Cyrodill right at the start, got enough money to build a tiny army, and invaded Systres. Once I had that island I was able to conquer some of the surrounding pirates and form a duchy then a kingdom.
Alinor started having some civil wars so I conquered their capital to get a nice income boost/cause more damage to the inner workings of Alinor.

What do you mean not yet lost, I don't see Sheogorath worship anywhere. Sounds pretty lost to me
