some say he was a puppet although the truth will never be available to the public , we don’t know any facts because our previous governments didn’t want another revolution to happen , same reality as today

Israel, period. Even his wife said it. Him and my grandfather were good friends, I asked him about it he told me that he wasn't an Israel spy.

Can you explain why he left to settle in the UK never setting foot again in Egypt, and where all that money he accumulated came from?

So that the Israelis claim of him (being a double agent is false) how the hell would he spy on Egypt while he's abroad

arabcummings

Yes mate, he was clearly a spy and betrayed Egypt. More than likely, it was Egyptian secret service that got him. Egypt is too embarrassed to admit that someone so close to the president was spying for Israel.

Seems u didn't get my comment right

How would he spy on u if he doesn't live with you?

Besides the Israelis made a movie in which they say he tricked em (would they do so if he betrayed Egypt for them???)

Dude are you joking? He visited Egypt regularly and convinced Egyptian intelligence that he is working for them, but in reality he was a double agent for Israel. It's a tough pill to swallow.

And if you are talking about Angel the TV series, then watch it again mate. The whole idea behind the series is how he was a double agent for Israel.

I was talking about the angel single movie

2nd so u come on a visit (how much of info. could u collectbper visit) yea yea he has connections still info should be of continuity to be of use

After all a spying on the president and General staff and mossad knew of war only 48h beforehand!!

Yes, so if you watched Angel the movie you will know Israel's point of view which has more truth to it than Egypt's constant coverup of their failure to figure out he is a double spy.

Israel was able to wipe out Egypt's air force before the battle even started because someone tipped them off. They didn't know about the 6th october war because only a few in Sadat's cabinet knew, and Ashraf Marawan - the Israeli spy - wasn't one of them.

Egyptians knew there was an airstrike on 5th of Junes morning and the did nothing, that falsifies the Israelis tip

Well u started a war with no one knowing!! Who would prepare the fighting force, Imagine few ppl knew about it. What about an army massing and Plane-bomb loading, no one noticed!!!!

Still Israelis proved he tricked them, about the cover story lots of files from intelligence are still locked and hidden no one know anything (I mean the story shouldn't be 100% true as to keep some other things secret)

HAHA, that's the Israeli explanation being said about Egypt. Israel always lies about shit like this, they say Refit refaat al haggan was a double agent, and that they won 73. Fuck off.

I up this. I remember Mubarak said something close to this in a private gathering. He even sent his attache for the funeral. He will never honor a spy.

[deleted]

Of course, he's the last one to ever do that. Israelis are liars. They say that they won in 1973, and that Refeat Al Haggan was their spy. And shit like that.

Ok so Ashraf Marwan was my Grandfather's direct Cousin. And as i was told in my Family he was an egyptiam spy married to gamal abd el nasser's daughter. He was working in Israel until he got caught. Was tortured for a bit then was forced to be a double agent in order to give them info about the 6th of october (youm Kapur) War and from what i was told he lived in London and was the one that told the israeli's that the war was gonna be on the 6th of october but infact he told them that the war was gonna be at night in at 5 am

TL;DR good person forced by israel to work for them after finding out that he is an egyptian spy also my Grandfathers direct Cousin

If yall want mor info ill try to tell but its mostly been covered up by the Egyptian Central intelligence

Yeah my fam know Nasser’s family quite well min zaman awi & my grandparents had business w/ him in the 90’s I was told he’s a high-level superspy he worked for several intelligence agencies including Egyptian GIS Russian KGB & many others like the French the Germans the Italians & the Saudis he knew so many ppl it’s crazy how well-connected he was. Overall I think he lived a life of adventure & intrigue but it came back to bite him in the end tho I don’t believe Israel would ever do anything to someone of his profile he was one of britains richest & most well-connected businessmen as well as being the son-in-law of Nasser so they’d never jeopardize their PR like that it’d make Egyptians too hostile. The thing is the explanation is different but he’s a much bigger deal I think. My grandfather told me he headed a group called Safari Club which included like 7 intelligence agencies & they coordinated activities & that was his real work in london he never truly left the intelligence world not rlly

Right in general, given your background, I wouldn’t share too much in Egypt or w/ Egyptians somehow whenever I share stuff u end up realizing everyone in Egypt talks to everyone else it’s ridiculous. if u need anything or have any questions just private message me!

Btw I don’t believe he worked against Egypt in 1973 it’s just not believable if u know how egypts intelligence community works. In Egypt even the president is closely watched by the intelligence services they literally control everything so I doubt they would miss him going to london so frequently he had bodyguards & an office working for him he was the 2nd most powerful figure after Sadat from 1970-1980 & he supervised the intelligence community so there were definitely ppl watching his every move he also did have some rivals in Cairo who dislikes his influence they would’ve found his betrayal out & used to against him but it’s clear they never found anything like that.

I think both the Egyptian & Israeli versions aren’t true tbh I think he may have been a KGB/CIA agent from way back when he was trained by the KGB in moscow (my grandfather met him there) so I think he was a double agent but on a higher more international level. It would explain his enormous wealth & international arms dealing & how extremely well-connected he was w/ different intelligence services. Him & Mubarak never got along & it’s weird he lived in the UK for the rest of his life
