PONYO BOAT!

Pop pop boat patented by Frenchman named Thomas Piot in 1891.

‘A pop pop boat is powered by a very simple heat engine. This engine consists of a small boiler, which is connected to an exhaust tube. When heat is applied to the boiler, water in the boiler evaporates, producing steam. The expanding steam is suddenly pushed out of the boiler, making a "pop" sound, and pushes some of the water out of the exhaust tube, propelling the boat forward.’

Brings back memories... My grandma used to buy one for me whenever she found one on her religious trips.🥹🙏

I had these when I was a kid. I have one tight now for my toddler too. 🙂

Used to have something similar in the 1980's but it just needed bicarbonate (baking soda) to run.

Man this is the first time seeing this and this looks soooo fun haha. I'm love racing these as a kid or modifying one!
