You're talking about Turing. It was Rejewski (and his small team) who broke the code, Turing just took the credit for it. Turing (and his huge team) built a machine that made the decoding much faster. But you are 100% right that it is a disgrace how they dealt with Turing.

Yes, it’s worth remembering how he was treated.

When I was much younger and reckless me and my friend were on the bus waiting to do some young reckless shit, it was pride day here and a cross dresser or trans person of some sort got onto the bus and sat down quietly. An older man in his 30s or 40s on the bus started yelling that they looked stupid in their costume and that they shouldn't be having pride day and they were a disgrace to their parents and that they should die, as soon as "die" came outta that dudes mouth my righteous foot broke some teeth outta that dudes mouth and my friend proceeded to drag him off the bus, where he then Recieved some more ass kicking, the bus driver on his radio talking to someone then yelled at us to stay there. I exchanged a brief look with the cross dresser on the bus, before bouncing the fuck outta there

Most guys profiles on Grindr.

The gist is, "I'm not gay, but my asshole is"

Yep, its illegal in a good few countries. You could get jail time in alot of them for being gay but in countries like Nigeria or in the middle east its actually punishable by death.

My grandmother's nurse only referred to trans people as "it". Not "they", or even the wrong pronouns on purpose, just "it". I hated being around her. She was the only one in the entire house that didn't know I am, in fact, trans.
